Tips for a flag people can read
- Big, short wordsA flag is read from a moving car. One to three big words work better than a full sentence.
- Words run up a feather flagMost feather flags read from the bottom up, so the words can be large. Words across a narrow flag print much smaller.
- Logo inside the safe areaKeep your logo and words away from the pole sleeve and the curved edges. The designer shows the sleeve and a dashed safe line.
- High contrastLight letters on a dark background, or dark on light, read best from the road. Avoid thin letters and busy photos behind text.

How many designs can I make?
Each time you press Design my flag you get 4 designs to choose from. You can do that 2 times a day for free with no sign-up, or 10 times a day after you add your email. These tries are shared with our AI banner generator. Making designs is free. You only pay if you order a printed flag.
Which way should the words run on a feather flag?
On most feather flags the words run up the flag and read from the bottom, so the letters can be as big as possible. Pick Words across if you want one or two short words to read straight across. Teardrop and pole flags read straight across.
Will the design fit my flag's shape?
We design for the flag and size you pick and show each design on that flag's outline with the pole sleeve. On tall feather and rectangle flags the AI designs the middle of the flag, and the plain background at the ends is stretched to fill the top and bottom.
What if a word comes out spelled wrong?
Every design is checked for spelling and for your logo, and designs that fail are redone automatically. If a mistake still slips through, tap Fix a word and type the correction. You also review and sign a proof before anything is printed.
Will my logo look exactly like my file?
The AI redraws your logo as part of the design, so small details can change. In the flag designer you can add your original logo file on top and turn, move or resize it.
Can I print both sides of the flag?
Yes. In the flag designer you choose 1 side or 2 sides. With 1 side the design shows through to the back in reverse. With 2 sides you can use the same art on both sides or a different design on the back.
What happens after I pick a design?
